Anon, Ralsei was likely never real to begin with. Chapter 4 confirms darkners can also be manifestation of attachments to a dead/missing person; that's why Gerson is this gigachad figure, because that's how Suzie envisioned him secretly. Ralsei is clearly a manifestation of Kriss missing the times he had fun with his brother, but otherwise isn't real.
