Well this is news to me which now explains the fundamental design flaws. I saw the older demo from itch and even though the game was updated visually (for the worse) the gameplay was not.
It makes perfect sense they/them'd focus on the superficial things instead of improving the soulsKiro gameplay formula.

Also as a palette cleanser I recommend checking out the cute yet ballbustingly hard fishing rhythm game recommended in a previous thread.
