Multiplayer is the key. Or more specifically, co-op.
Pretty much every Star Fox game has at least four members of the Star Fox team.
Have each member of the Star Fox team playable in every mission.
Imagine both online and couch co-op with up to four players.
You can have them all play the same, or give them all subtle differences mechanically.
Maybe even have different roles across different missions.
There's genuinely so much potential.
