Probably because proper European paganism would be terrifying and would be absurdly right wing. Germanic paganism in particular would be the easiest to revive since its both a religion and political system.
>The religion itself affirms monarchy and divine kings descended from their ancestral deity. Outside ethnic groups are not allowed or are treated as serfs/slaves.
>Homosexuality and martial cowardice are unforgivable usually result in death
>The religion and laws are intertwined tightly and the death sentence is use fairly frequently for criminals
>It would lead to a revival of interest in European heritage in America, placing Europeans first and foremost and everyone else last. You would more than likely see traditional architecture and social norms/laws like duels return in fairly short order.
>different rights based on your "class" would be enshrined in the law but social mobility for those of European heritage would be easy. Outsiders...not so much.

>Northern Europeans were just too antisocial and individualist to form their own civilization
They had their own civilization though? Its not too dissimilar from what you see in medieval Europe in terms of material culture, and has mostly the same political layout.
>ey absorbed Jewish and Greco-Roman Mediterranean influences
And vice versa. They were pretty much the best metal smiths and most of their sword designs and armor designs were copied, especially in Rome, which often followed them at a 1:1 in some cases.

>In Western Europe/the Middle East/North Africa it was Mesopotamia
Not the case, at all. North-Western material culture and political organization basically remained unmoved since its earliest forms. It was iterated on and layered on top of, but its foundations were never really shifted. We were using wattle and daub construction since before the copper age and it made its way to fucking Jamestown with the pilgrims.
