It could make a lot of sense to use that for a CYOA-style card, even if we never see it in logs.

And even beyond simple CYOAs, there are valid stylistic reasons for choosing it. Fallen London (and some parts of Sunless Sea) occasionally employ future tense to great effect when the story happens in/near to Irem*, where it's used to emphasize the nature of it as the prophesied city on the crossroads of fate where destiny is spun, while also adding a bit of a poetic flair to the whole thing, e.g., "You will arrive in Irem, the Pillared City. She will rise from the zee and the ice like dawn. She will be garlanded with red and decked with gold. The Seven-Serpent will watch you longingly from its high pedestal."
You could totally RP like that. Sounds interesting, actually, and would make for some ambitious smut if it went that way.
*FL's Irem is heavily inspired by Lovecraft's Irem (it could be the same place)
