Yeah. The only exception to this is officially localized media like movies and games. The localizers usually use proper portuguese. But apparently that isn't enough to make people apply it to their day to day lives.
I can go to any anglo content creator on YouTube, big or small, and they all use a much wider range of words to express emotions or ideas. I've noticed that brazilian content creators have a considerably harder time getting their point across, they stutter more and have a smaller vocabulary compared to anglos. And this isn't a fault of the portuguese language, we have the vocabulary to be just as eloquent as gringos. The issue is that we either never learned those words and expressions or we forgot them.
