I actually really loved the design of Elden Beast. It's based on the cosmic web, which is a theory that if you were to zoom out the entire universe further than the eye can see, that all of our galaxies would look like one big tree with connected branches, etc. Tetris Effect actually illustrates this, and is the best reference I can come up with.
