It's really not. I've now been to almost all of wyoming save for around Cody, and down in the SE. Saying it's mostly flat, empty and ugly is just wrong and malicious almost as if you're trying to keep someone out.
Also to say Montana is not as bad as Wyoming is just delusion. Yes the western side is great, but the entire eastern side is a plateau with the only remotely cool thing being around the Missouri break which pales in comparison to what Wyoming has in it's lower elevation spots. The missouri plateau is like an easy 60-70% of Montana's land mass.
