Every 5 years or so I end up selling my entire collection. I used to have a massive collection of SHF dragon ball figures, SAS jojos, Evangelion shit, a whole bunch of Fist of the north star fogures.. sold in lots one by one. It’s like the once I’ve had something on display for so long and can’t keep up with new releases or have space anymore I don’t really feel the need to keep the entire display around so I end up selling entire lines in bulk. I just let go of a massive amount of Storm Collectibles figures I NEVER would have thought I’d sell 2 years ago. I remember a while ago it was a pipe dream to have good figures of Baki and Yujiro, and when I finally got them I felt underwhelmed, and I didn’t feel much when I sold them all off either. I still love toys though, and will never sell the ones that are truly special. Maybe the lesson is less is more? Or to think extra hard about what you truly want to have in your display? Or that our tastes change overtime and it’s a natural part of collecting to purge and start anew?
