I believe entirely and exclusively sources contemporary or immediate to events, see archeology as just a way to affirm or characterize the aesthetics of these events, and take mythological or embellished events literally unless they contradict my religious beliefs. I also completely reject/ignore any sort of sociological explanations like historic materialism or dialectics: for example if someone asks me why the western roman empire fell i would just say "because Odoacer conquered it"
