IDW already had the license to Skylanders so its not out of the realm of possibility (the comic was only cancelled due to fears the continuity would conflict with the TV show. Yes those comics were canon to the games). The problem is Activision will more than likely demand it be aligned on the Crash 4 version of the series meaning your main character will be picsreel.
And knowing how terrible the IDW staff can be, they'll somehow make it worse.

Looking at how Dynamite is just licensing dead IPs like CAPTAIN PLANET and the Herculoids, its not off the table.
