honestly thats not exclusive to the dg cult
the bracer guild, the church, epstein foundation etc are all underdeveloped even after 13 games
people praise the worldbuilding of this series but a western rpg like the original fallout has 10x the worldbuilding trails does in a single game than trails does in 13
i honestly really think that japs just do not value worldbuilding in the slightest because so many jap series are like this
if trails was a wrpg you would know who founded the church what exactly they believe and the core tenets of aidios worship why they worship aidios how it spread etc just by talking to random npcs and reading books but if japs wrote fallout 1 the brotherhood of steel would just be dudes in power armor who kill mutants and you would never learn their backstory or what they believe and how they recruit people
japs do have their own strengths of course like i think they do individual characters better but i really do wish they actually valued worldbuilding especially in a series like trails where it feels like they come close to developing an actual developed setting but they still just miss the mark
