Oh really? Hmm.. yeah I ended up turning my sensitivity all the way up, and disabled mouse acceleration. Still felt much slower than my Win10 drive. Slow as in, I had to physically move my mouse longer distances to get the cursor to move across the screen. Not really "lag" if that makes sense.

Being somewhat of an outsider to Linux, honestly the most daunting thing so far is choosing the "right" distro
