I'm sick of people comparing TNO (no gameplay, bad wannabe VN) with Cookie Clicker (real game).
>Elements such as timing harvests or Golden Cookies based on how many cookies you have banked determines yields, allowing for strategic depth and planning
>Investments into Dough Jones has greater depth, complexity and player freedom than TNO's economy and yields from it can be invested freely
>A lot of tricks and exploits such as resetting to avoid paying cookie loan sharks gives you achievements, not a railroaded fail state
>Subtle messages about the environment, working conditions, elder abuse and more, cleverly and non-intrusively conveyed without moralizing or sacrificing gameplay
>Substantial buildings on offer, each adding something to the cookie economy and often tying into various mechanics such as the stock market and magic
>Caters both to active and passive playstyles, the prior of which requires more engagement than most new tags added by TNO
On the surface, a nonsense idle game about clicking on a cookie that proves to be a lot smarter and deeper than it actually is, as opposed to something that tries to come off as an intelligent game but simply ends up being grandstanding retardation.
Not even a shitpost, I unironically like Cookie Clicker and even I think TNO is lacking in gameplay.
