Chapter 1 was light but 2 ended with a panic attack and 3 had a growing undercurrent of anxiety. It's just the subtext and text flipped now. Something traumatic had to happen to justify her excessive insecurity. She was painfully ashamed of herself for wanting to meet oneesama.
