Lula's response to the Trump tariffs is going to be reciprocal tariffs and increase trade with other countries, specially BRICS partners.
This is the best response I would expect, the US has a surplus of Trade with Brazil, which means they stand to lose more than us, and while we can get the products we import from the US from other countries, the US will have a really hard time replacing our coffe.
So far, the Lula govermant haven't mentioned restriction on the Niobium trade, which, IMO, is by far our strongest weapon in a trade war.

Lula responded: reciprocal tariffs it is, this will make us closer to China than ever before.
We import more from the US than we export to them, so I expect some hurt to their side as well, while we replace their products with chinese ones, something that already started with cars, we sure have a lot of chinese cars now.
That's not to mention rare metals, Brazil produces 93% of the world's supply of Niobium, if we cut the US off, along with China cutting them off from other rare earth metals, then the US is fucked beyond fucked.

Now cut them off from out Niobium, let them figure out where to get their own coffe, their eggs, their crude.
Seek even closer trading relations with China, Russia, South East Asia and Latin America.
