Yeah, basically. COD and Fortnite is crack and they have refined that metaprogression and dopamine incentives to an exact science.
Retards can spam "Battlefield 6" in the comments all over COD's youtube videos and constantly repost that statement about the director wanting to keep the skins grounded, but the people actually playing the games and actually spending money do like those skins. The whiners could go play a milsim but they won't because that actually requires effort and investment.
It'll grab people just off its release date. Far away enough from the big sports titles, far away from COD, no real competition thanks to GTA6 delay.
When Battlefield's larger maps remind players its gameplay is more about skirmishes and hot zones of control rather than the freewheeling manic insanity and time-to-encounters measured in single digit seconds of COD I think it'll lose its first big chunk come BO7's usual late October/early November release date. And that goes without assuming they don't get distracted by trying to make that free-to-play battle royale happen or post-launch doesn't get compromised. Or a buggy as fuck launch.
I hope Battlefield 6 does well long-term just because there's no actively supported large scale combined arms multiplayer shooter in the AAA space, but people trying to make this successful out of fanboy spite or bizarre grievances with COD are not serious people.
