Ok that's a lot of ideas thrown around. How about this idea for an Ingrain rewrite timeline:
>May was a perfectly competent trainer who eventually grew overconfident
>Somewhere during her journey she has a brief Daycare Centre phase where she's trying to get an egg move baby or something
>The point is that now half her party is just full of Eggs
>Caring for eggs is different from training Pokemon so it's a learning curve
>(And a pain in the ass biking back and forth through Mauville)
>Roselia is the eggs' mom so that's why she's out of he Pokeball hanging out with May and the (Budew) eggs
>Magcargo is also there as the Magma Armor/Flame Body ability speeds up egg hatching
