Literally 2 minutes into the movie Kira is telling Shinn to go guard a government building and stay out of the combat zone. Shinn has been demoted from protagonist to a grunt that Kira doesn't fully trust. This would be like us watching 50 episodes of Kamille being the protagonist in Zeta, then in ZZ Gundam we see Amuro telling him "sorry kid you're not competent enough so sit back and let the adults handle this". If they disrespected Kamille like that Zeta fans would be seething, so why aren't SEED Destiny fans seething.
