Ah, I get it now. This is an ego thing. You think you and you alone should determine the fate of everyone on Earth, likely as a means to reassert control over your life when the world is constantly showing you that you in fact have no control over anything at all. You're at the mercy of a uncaring universe, and that thought terrifies you, so you try your damndest to make sure there's at least *someone* or *something* that provides some measure of comfort. You want there to be a hell and you want everyone to go there because that at least means there's some semblance of order to everything, even if its negative. You prefer the flames to the uncertainty, and you want to make sure everyone else is on board as well.
