A lot of it is ESLs. The average internet user of current year has nothing in common with you and is posting from a smartphone, without any context of the net's overall culture. At best they are from twitter checking out the infamous 4chan and bringing a culture war with them, at worst, a paid indian shillfarm using translation software to dilute discussion.

It is dead anon, I've posted since around 2007 and been using the net as a child since about 2003. The average anon of 2007 is an introverted, shy autistic nerd. The average anon of 2025 is not posting in their native language and is on a smartphone. You have to go to the real world, make things and drag quality people to you, there is no other option. Every quality community is private and based around gatekeeping the modern net user that I described above. Cultivate a skill and focus on real life above all else, it's not worth your time outside of a select few people you choose to drag into your orbit, the era of being an introverted lurker and finding funny shitposts or decent discussion is mostly over. I'm mad about it too.
