THE INTERNET IS DEAD. IT'S FUCKING DEAD

>SEO spam and AI content farms, search engines are now completely unusable

I'M TALKING ABOUT 2022 LEVEL OF QUALITY BEING GONE
NOT EVEN ASKING FOR A NUANCED PRE-NORMIES INTERNET

>monetization EVERYWHERE, nobody moves a finger for fun anymore

EVERYTHING IS NOW BEING SOLD: YOUTUBE CHANNELS, SUBREDDITS

>engagement algorithms everywhere, making normies more and more retarded
>ragebait and tribal conflict is now the norm instead of just some insane retards

EVERYTHING IS FOR FUCKING ENGAGEMENT FARMING

>I'M TALKING ABOUT 2022 LEVEL OF QUALITY BEING GONE
Confirmed underage newfag, the net is dead to geeks since the normies and social media ruined it way back in 2007-2010.
But that normies cry out now, oh is music to my ears. This is exactly what it felt like to the geeks, when the normies ruined it for them.
Many 35+ millenials here were surfing the web and exploring the net easily back in 1999 on cheap DSL landlines, upper-middleclass white consumers households, always using desktop PCs. Then the mobile cancer came... you are just experiencing the net's death a second time. But this time it's an adversary even the normies cannot stomach, I hope the SAARs drive you insane. Go fuck yourself. It's dead since your kind arrived, dumbphone.

Now you guys aren't even trying? There's the camp of animeposters and the camp of frogposters. Frogposters also post wojaks, but mostly offensively to portrait the other guy. There's proud wojak posters too, that use it as a badge of honor, they got banned, made their own circlejerk site, planned and executed a hack on this very stie, taking it down for days and doxxing stats that showd 90% of content were literal kike glowies.

But anyway, frogs vs animegirls is a common theme in this basket weaving forum for as long as I remember frogposting.

I am waiting or will you resort to narcissistic defensive coping next?
When their defensive rage fails them, underlying feelings of shame, humiliation, and unacceptability can lead them to feel irreparably defeated.
Detaching from others to feel superior can ultimately lead narcissists to personal failure and social rejection.

Take a two to five year break and return anon. I'm serious. We're in the trans(heh)itionary phase of peak shit for the net's culture. The old world is dying while the new is struggling to be born. The next year will see AI censorship and moderation en masse, the years after that LLMs will make up probably half or more of the discussion you see online, you won't be able to have a conversation anywhere in public without it potentially being a robot as this technology gets cheaper and more effective at astroturfing and shilling.

It was my life too, I understand. Wait this out, focus on the real world and come back, the people you're looking for still exist, they're just scattered and drowned in the hordes of the modern internet on five thousand different federated private spaces. Eventually everyone will get tired of this as the internet evolves into it's next phase, of the public net being an incredibly sticky flytrap for normal people while enthusiasts go elsewhere.

If you read it, you know what I'm talking about keeping the fire lit
Everywhere you go in the internet it's like those parties James Taggart went
I'm trying to be full organic here, no efficiency, no rules, whatever, just what I want
Not completely Randyan since she did love objective truth, but it's fun to be goalless retard sometimes

That the internet is constructed and false, everyone wanting to look smart, marketable, create engagement, whatever
I'm not here to prove I read book X or I'm Y years old or I know Z, but to be myself at the rawest, that's the point of the rage: to be pointless and to cause nothing specific, just to have fun
Not to move or to inspire, neither to earn money or likes, just because I felt like doing it

The internet as a public hangout and discussion space, where you could routinely discover some cool niche thing or a funny video from some rando, is mostly dead. I mean, there are still pockets of it here and there of course, but the people who occupy them are pretty much all now middle-aged veterans from the heyday of blogs and web forums 20+ years ago. I guess the closest thing now that resembles that sense of community of the old web, before it was buried in homogeneous algorithmically driven SEO spam and AI slop and parasocial e-celebs, is stuff like private Discord servers or Telegram channels, but it’s still a far cry from how things used to be

/dpt/ didn't have schizos with their regdumpers, tribal baiting existed but it was more lighthearted, projects were common and idiots were always trying to make their pet projects become viral
Sneedacity happened remember? After it I spent most of the time on element as I was part of the project, then it died out and I also abandoned element
I came back to /g/ at the start of this year, so it feels very different to me, most people probably felt it worsening like frogs being boiled

A lot of it is ESLs. The average internet user of current year has nothing in common with you and is posting from a smartphone, without any context of the net's overall culture. At best they are from twitter checking out the infamous 4chan and bringing a culture war with them, at worst, a paid indian shillfarm using translation software to dilute discussion.

It is dead anon, I've posted since around 2007 and been using the net as a child since about 2003. The average anon of 2007 is an introverted, shy autistic nerd. The average anon of 2025 is not posting in their native language and is on a smartphone. You have to go to the real world, make things and drag quality people to you, there is no other option. Every quality community is private and based around gatekeeping the modern net user that I described above. Cultivate a skill and focus on real life above all else, it's not worth your time outside of a select few people you choose to drag into your orbit, the era of being an introverted lurker and finding funny shitposts or decent discussion is mostly over. I'm mad about it too.

Yes and the worst about phone posters is how bored and vapid they are. They think other people have to entertain them, whilst they bring nothing into the discussions themselves with their phones.
They are the "1 post by this ID" you see on pol with the Samshit IMG_9171.jpg filenames. They are hit and run posters that will post from a toilet on wifi and disengage any discussion the moment they are bored again.
Losers with no object permanence.

correct, and the new normie thing to do is browse twitter and shilled garbage on an endlessly scrolling twitter feed. We've completely flipped and it's why the internet's quality has degraded so badly. The ultimate middle ground is to find a nerd circle you click with in real life so you don't have to deal with any of this. Visit cons, whatever you have to do. Insulate yourself from the retardation of the eternal culture war with quality people and you've won.

The insane normal people you used to use the internet to get away from have overtaken it. You can join private discords and communities that are more eccentric but their problems have a whole different book of issues. Rest well and don't take it too seriously, you're not the only one with these opinions. I truly do think it'll get better in a few years when gatekeeping becomes a standard requirement, it's happened in the 2000s already, where a certain forum required payment to enter and post. We're just repeating the cycle.

>>106006659
It happens on private spaces like discord and federated communities too. Anyone good at expression has to hide in DMs or become overwhelmed. As a result, the public chats are for the mentally unwell and ESLs talking in circles, brain drain on a massive scale.

I've been to hacker space in $bigCity and it was either leftist identity politics or groups not opening to strangers. Let me share a fundamental truth with you: At some age the effort to make new friends and have them trust you is too exhausting. Life itself is already enough work. You are most likely as old as I, that means you remember the time where you'd just go $place and you'd just act as if you were already friends with $person. In elementary you'd make a friend by shaking hands with someone else. As an adult now it's so much harder.
>Every quality community is private and based around gatekeeping the modern net user that I described above.
I agree but this also ruins club culture. Most ham radio clubs are hostile. They'd rather see their hobby die than let "young" people in it. The hostile 70+ hams that even hate 40 year olds because they use a digi mode the analogue ham despises.
>Cultivate a skill and focus on real life above all else, it's not worth your time outside of a select few people you choose to drag into your orbit, the era of being an introverted lurker and finding funny shitposts or decent discussion is mostly over. I'm mad about it too.
Same but there is only friends and family now. Can be lucky already I still do regular old landline calls of 1on1 VOIP with important people over a private secure mumble/murmurd server with TLS1.3

most people cannot think for themselves because society uses sociopathic shunning tactics against those who do not conform
the normie is a normie because he seeks consensus from authority figures and needs his opinion approved by someone else with social status
the definition of normie is someone who follows celebs and parrots opinions of the daily show and last week tonight

Most of the internet is unusable at this point. Back in 2012 there used to be 20+ websites I'd frequent, now it's just 4chan, the people you follow tab (with a carefully curated follow list) on xitter and rarely YouTube.
Offtopic: talking about SEO spam.
I created a website for a small company I started with my father and a friend.
We're getting fucking FLOODED by pajeets with their SEO proposals. I can barely find customer emails in-between garbage, how the fuck does this shit not end up in spam? When we tried to do an advertising campaign with cold emailing half of our emails got deferred, how can a fucking pajeet send me 7 emails with the exact same content from one email and then another 5 from a different email and just go straight into my mailbox? Wtf?

Same with boards on 4chan, places like /v/ or /fit/ are full of normies who saw a bunch of greentexts on Instagram tiktoks or whatever, or leftards trying to "take back 4chan from /pol/" whenever someone says nigger or something
/pol/ is a disaster and they see jews in their own shadow
/fa/ is pretty much dead
/x/ is the only board that remains the same, which doesn't mean it's good lmao

I bought a domain with domain guard and the jeets abused a way to contact the owner, so me, to harass me with proposals to do webdesign for me
normally I should only be contacted for legal reasons, but they abused some loophole where the domain guard can forward it to me without disclosing my real mail of contact data
i really hate these smelly "people"

I sound like a broken record at this point but if you want to find real people you should give bulletin boards a try. Any BBS you will find will be run by an individual and the tech is too old and obscure to attract and commercial interests.
The communities are small but different boards are linked by nets like fidonet or tqwnet which allows people to message each other despite being on boards.
Its not for everyone but it's fun and the ANSI art is cool. If you like it you can even host your own with ease.
So stop being a faggot and do something about it.

The one I frequent the most is 20forbeers. Its not dead but it is not like 4chan, the pace is slower. I log in once a day, read the different threads and post, and then log off.
This board is rather old school in that you only get two hours or so a day so make sure you bank your extra time each day that you don't use it all so you can deploy it later if you want to idle.
So yeah it is not a 4chan replacement but the slow pace encourages higher quality/longer posting

Read my other post, they are different technologies and one is not a direct replacement for the other. One can and should use both.
And with respect to the low amount of posts that might be true on the local boards but between all the different nets you will see far more than five.
Regardless something is as alive as you want it to be. You can turn 5 into 6, is that idealistic, maybe but it us also the truth.
Breathing life into something is hard and it requires people to make the effort. If you don't want to make the effort, fine, but don't bitch.

The local boards dont get much traffic but the nets that link them do. Think of it being federated. The action takes place between the different users on different boards talking to each other.
It is still a small community, don't get me wrong, but plenty of action for an hour or two a day reading/posting.

Niche communities can be restored but it will require people with vision and discipline. Deploying the software is the easy part but getting people to contribute is hard. Everyone wants a ready made community but that is not possible.
People that are interested need to find a place they like and use it, post, whatever and keep doing that every day or week or whatever.
It is like exercise, the first day is the most difficult, but it will get better each day after.

Seems cool but really impractical when you want to view files and images directly. The closest thing that would spark my interest would be an electronics forum. Russian imageboards have sometimes better categories and if you want to keep normies out, obscure fields of interest can provide better fragmentation. /g/ sucks because they cannot make a consoomerist /g/.

Even virtual tubers got their own containment board. There should be a board for consumer electronics, hobbyist electronics and programming. Often interesting threads die because some expert who is only online a few days a week will never see them. The inherent slowness is a good thing. Consumer boards move faster, that's normal

>its not about mass appeal, its just about any appeal.
The appeal about 4chan is the concept of Anonymous. There is no inherent need that we always recognize the same people across all threads and even boards. Such things only cause friction and social tensions. We might yell at each other over a subject but be highly agreeable in another thread over a shared enemy and anti-feature.
Reddit is largely cancerous because of the voting system, reward driven posting and echo chamber of freak opinions. I've seen people with 100k karma who were part of a group that bullied the fox lady to suicide. If post karma is high, it doesn't mean anything. It can be the most low life sociopathic individual you can imagine, and of course it was a gay furry.

Stress can fuck up acetyl groups and methyl groups on a DNA and histone level. That means your body can over or under produce receptors for serotonin, which causes depression. That mechanism is largely stress and inflammation triggered. Inflammation is caused by poor sleep and bad diets too.

Modern society itself is killing us mentally. Did you know that FOMO (fear of missing out) and anxiety is not dopamine driven, but serotonin driven? Droomscrolls and algorithmic feedback loops are supposed to screw your serotonin.

I don't think shunning tactics work if you really understand what the concept of Anonymous means. It means I don't really care what you call me, I am faceless and I have to rep to defend on a site. People bragging on 4chan don't understand being Anon. Each day you close your session and go to bed, you leave this site with empty pockets. You cannot take your e-cred with you the next day.

Slurs will do 1 thing exactly perfectly and reproducibly: People will go to a different tab and talk to someone more intelligent and willing to write a long post.

Sure, I want to be right as well, but my ability giving me some worth is that I am willing to learn and change my standpoint. Most people take intelligent people sharing useful info with them as personal attack. If telling someone something cool, maybe the person was just excited and NOT flexing on them. Usually dumb people are super easy to offend, something something cognitive dissonance.
>you realise it's stupid people all the way down, the only difference is they believe themselves to be capable unlike the rest
I see your point and it appears to be so. Maybe movies are a great example. Some movies make use of a narrator type character that asks dumb questions and the other characters explain it to the character.
I feel when we bowed down to allow every dummy to be included and kept in the loop via cheap narrative devices, companies appealed to the lowest common denominator, because dumb people are potential customers as well.

For me, the internet officially died when various game developer forums shut down in favor of just using places like Discord or Twitter. Specifically, it was when the Elder Scrolls forums switched to their fucking god awful Bethesda Forums approach and then a few years later were mercifully killed.
Nothing will ever replace the TES forums for me. The level of in-depth autistic discussion about mods, gameplay, lore, and then general discussion was too awesome throughout the 2000s and early 2010s.
At least the UESP forums still exist and are relatively active.

This principle applies to most groups with defined rules or customs. Outsiders often adopt only the superficial rules and miss the group's core purpose. Even high society with all of its etiquette crap is affected by the same dynamic he described.
That said, etiquette is not inherently bad. It can can still serve as a useful heuristic for distinguishing sincere members from pretenders. Calling people normalfaggots and posting anime girls is 4chan's version of etiquette, and really it's not much different from other customs.

Like this. The insane, sociopathic and mentally ill will dominate server topics and most things on the platform are treated as a social competition with the hidden and locked away nature of servers not helping. It's terrible. cy-x.net is your only solution and this is very simple
Zoomies can't into properly reviving the web. Take this site which is managed by people who actually know what oldfaggotry is like. 'Unraidable'.

This is the kind of autism that I appreciate:
>?mode=topic&id=150

>You can't just pretend that you're 'nostalgic for the old internetz' when you sit on Discord as your primary online communication vector, paying for Nitro (and subsequently rewarding them for their centralization and privacy violating efforts) and only consume your content through massive conglomerates who will never go back to their olden ways..
>And additionally, just to add onto that, why do these people think these large companies even cared about them in the first place? They were bad then and they will be bad now, with plenty of evidence and simple research that someone can find on their own to prove it. However, Zoomers will not know this information in the first place, because they were small children.

>They will not care about that information, either, because LARPING matters more than being accurate to the source material, as long as they can be given affirmation from others for it.
>They aren't nostalgic for any sense of community or gathering, they're nostalgic for when they were small children looking at shiny web icons. They don't appreciate the technological designs behind it nor do they desire to actually drop modern ones for the ones of old; They can only see the very surface of what they're after.

well yes I will inherit my parents house when they die, a thing I don't want to happen any time soon, but don't kid yourself even with my saving I will be working forever.
although part of that is I think lack of work is associated with death. one needs to stay busy and one needs to have other people depend on them. even if its only two or three days a week i will do something.
better alive and miserable than dead and burred.

Idiot-kun discovered a new trope to babble on about in a mindless new drivel for weeks!

Beware of the mind trap of mass consciousness. Your thoughts are not your own but have been conditioned by the mob of tribalism. Having a sense of belonging is wonderful, but it is disastrous when we diminish the other.

Group think is for NPC humans. When everyone is thinking alike, no one is thinking.
Looking up to someone else to know "is this safe for me to have as opinion?" is not 4chan.
There is no gay "collective" here.

It's a midwit take to think that common tropes, like posting anime slop or saying nigger, automatically equate to groupthink. It's like under8s thinking they're some kind of rebels for not adhering to social norms while not doing anything of genuine substance.

There are no lurkers anymore. The death of forums and their replacement by other types of social sites that encourage any participation means people that before would read and when having sometimes something half interesting to share, now feels compelled to share even the dumbest takes all the time.
