>how is it flawed
Putting it briefly
>combat wants to be hollow knight but forgets to make it as smooth as hollow knight, you don't have a parry or an iframes dash or a smaller hitbox than everything so it feels like you're a bull in a china shop unable to do anything besides eat attacks if your crystal arrow isn't off cooldown, and the game overuses the fuck out of explodes on death slimes that throw projectiles at you in lots of narrow corridors and it gets real old real fast.
>has the indie metroidvania trapping where maps don't actually feel like big stages for you to loop in but instead it's pic related, and given the nature of the game's platforming(it's basically celeste/super meatboy lite) this can get really fucking annoying
>has just a bunch of little niggling complaints like asstons of bloom everywhere that you can't turn off(enjoy going blind in the tower of light, the phoenix cult forge, the trial of kings and the Administrator bossfight)
>is it still worth playing
Personally I think it is.
Graphically it's a very beautiful game, bloom aside. It has an extremely pretty map graphic that I can't find the full thing online and is sadly mostly obscured by fog that you'll never reach ingame, unless you edit the game files you'll never witness it in full.
The nature of the game's platforming being celeste or meatboy lite means that every single room is a very difficult(relative to other metroidvanias) which makes exploration feel like a grand adventure even if the corridor issue I've mentioned exists. At the end of the game you're going through really tough sections that make the white palace(hollow knight) look like childs play but you're in such an absolute zen state it feels natural to go through these areas and the music is so fucking good and the game just feel ballsy to do this when every other metroidvania feels like it coddles you.
