I got my first microtech about a month ago (utx-85 gen 3) and now im hooked. I got this troodon and a couple more coming in the mail and currently waiting for single edge 85g3's. I have tried a bunch of other otfs and they just aren't on the level. I mean sure, Kershaw Livewire is reliable, better blade steel, pretty much equal build quality, but after getting accustomed to the way microtech blades satisfyingly click into place almost like a cassette going into a VHS player, it made me really hyper sensitive of the feeling of steel violently slamming into aluminum on the livewire every time it fires or retracts... the product of 3 decades of dialing in their action compared to Kershaw's first attempt is so apparent. It's a shame because the Livewire is legitimately good, the action just feels bad to me now.
As for my Lightning and SoS otfs, there's no comparison. The Lightning body feels like pot metal and the SoS action is so weak it fails to retract upside-down 3/10 times.
