I've been to some wfb game nights. By "private clubs" you mean shitty basements and dying lgs (private does not mean unpopular) and by "cigar houses" you mean unwashed and smelly musk from fat spergs.

I dont know how AoS games look like, but a pig in a mud stained tuxedo stewing in filth is more sophisticated than the fanciest WFB gaming spot. And the game is unbelievably boring with blocks of copy paste minis timidly meeting each other in the middle of an empty green table until one side arbitrarily wins.
