/vg/ or any thread that has a general, like many /a/ threads, have basically become Discord 2.0. People often call each other by username, they avatarfag, and even though the rules say you can't, nobody cares anymore.
They create their own personas, like being the X schizo or the Y schizo, just to be recognizable. They crave attention, and the more time passes, the more annoying they become, all to pull even more attention toward themselves.
I've seen cases where anons start hating something just to become That anon, then fill the thread with spam and bait posts until it becomes unusable for normal users. Only other schizos who can out-sperg the original sperg stick around, and the thread turns into a space for 2 or 3 people who bait each other nonstop, 24/7 until a newfag comes around and try to engage in discussion of the topic only to get bait and spam replies.
Then it evolves into those schizos getting bots just to keep their presence in the thread 24/7.

And that's why /vg/ fucking sucks.
