They get money from the people. They then spend that money on lavish trips, hunts and other rich people shit then retire in some Arabian peninsula country. Rinse and repeat. Either that or fail basic education but still get a top paying job in the oil industry in the aforementioned country.

The current Bourbon branch ruling the country? Not really. If given the choice I'd rather have a Carlist claimant as the king. If I could choose a different dynasty I'd have scientists find who's the current heir of the Trastámara dynasty.
But I'd rather have a different form of government that does not involve "royalty". However that would prove to be difficult to implement in this country.
