The ESL system is primarily used on older Mercedes-Benz models (up to ~2014) with EIS ignition systems. Most commonly affected are:

C-Class (W204) – 2007–2014
E-Class (W207, W212) – 2009–2014
GLK (X204) – 2008–2015
CLS (W218) – 2011–2014
ML/GL (W164, X164) – 2006–2012 (in some variants)
SLK (R172) – 2011–2014

Note: Newer Mercedes models (post-2015) often use an ESL emulator from factory (called an "EZS-only system") and do not have a physical steering lock anymore.
