I think what bothers me most about these new cosmetics is that they're all missed opportunities.

This Disco Elysium set is a prime example.
The hair looks good, we do already have the wild west whiskers but that's technically a face cosmetic not a hat, and there's a style with no beard for this cosmetic.
Although it's still a ham-fisted reference, a "pocket alcohol bottle" would be pretty fitting, maybe with different styles for different drinks, like a vodka style, xXx style, etc.
You could then mix that with one of Heavy's more classy shirt cosmetics to make a GOOD LOOKING reference loadout, while also fitting with the game.
These cosmetics don't just look like SHIT, they remove choice by being too much.
These pants look awful, and you can't use them without the shirt or they look terribly out of place.
But the set looks like shit.
It's far too cartoony.

This is a problem a lot of new cosmetics have.
That spy set also comes to mind.
