You're arguing what 'should be' against 'what is' and that's retarded. Of course everything would work out in your perfect world hypothetical, but there's no world where a Chinese made series that isn't SL levels of popularity in Japan or the west would get that level of treatment, and even given that degree of care and budget, I think what we got from BCmay looks unironically better than the washed-out shit SL became, even if it does include CGI.
The CGI was going to happen regardless of whether it was Chinese or Japanese. I think the Chinese CGI looks better than what anything the Japanese have produced and can produce, and even then I think that the anime industry has degraded over the past two decades to the point where the Chinese can actually compete.
