This was honestly the best episode so far to me. Brought everything together in a really cohesive way.

Now that we're entering the second half of Season 1 we'll be getting to some of the really good stuff here on out. Next episode is dealing with the Rampager and most likely starting the downfall of Old Neil.

The more episodes that are released the more it also makes sense why they did this season in an "Event-Based" format. The problem with the novel is the fact that it has like 10 plotlines all at once so the Donghua in a sense is just focusing on one event at a time before getting to the next one.

I swear all people are doing nowadays is nitpicking shit when I'm actually really enjoying what we've gotten so far. Plus this is a Donghua that'll probably just get better and better as the seasons pass and the individuals working on it get more and more experience. Just gotta give them time.

Honestly this ep and ep 6 are my current favourites so far. We got amon and fors name drop, mandatory Alger glazing, and I really like how the director is trying to show 0 08's interference without being too obvious, that part when Sirius missed the jump was done very well.

The scene where Klein finishes digesting the seer potion went exactly how I imagined when reading the novel. I feel like donghua only watchers should be less confused now.

I don't mean to sound like a fag with this but I've been getting shitpost replies for quite literally weeks because I called this out from episode 1+2.
The main criticism of the adaptation is rooted in pacing and could have been solved with a full 2-cour or 24 episode season, but I recognize that with the quality of each episode, 24 might simply not have been feasible cost-wise, especially when it's the first season. Unfortunately now that they've condensed volume 1 into a single cour, I'm concerned that any subsequent seasons will also be condensed into a single cour on the grounds of 'you did it once, do it again'

It would definitely be brain wracking for anime onlys especially for those fans who seek thrill in mysteries and uncovering...

The part where Klein brings out his doubts on disturbances of fate, coincidences and questions and then answers his only doubts will earnestly hook them.

Though, people might not understand the implication of this episode significance, this episode definitely laid a solid base for the ending of season 1. Fans would be like "ohh so that's what is happening" type shit.

Yeah it was peak. It's a much needed retrospective episode, tying together the seemingly unrelated plots of previous episodes, and it all ties back to the beginning - The real reason Klein shot himself.
I had a small issue with how he admitted divination isn't all-powerful, and is then immediately rewarded with his divination working which kind of works counter to the point, but in accepting that it's not all-powerful, he only gets a small hint instead of the answer, which i liked a lot.

The draw is that the source material is 10/10, your mileage may vary for this animated adaptation though as the pace was going at breakneck speed for the first few episodes. It will probably require you to think and digest what you've seen, maybe ask questions, to keep up with those.
The director's plan does seem to be coming together now though for why he's doing it this way so hopefully it'll be fine now.
Did you want to know what the genre and stuff are like? Sorry I don't have more time, about to head out. Hopefully somebody else can follow up.

It's pretty much a crapshoot.
At lower sequences it's not as impactful, but drinking the potion before digesting it properly has a higher (think over 50% chance) of just instantly turning you into a disgusting mindless monster.
Typically, higher sequence potions are more dangerous in terms of advancement, but as you get higher into the sequences you'll learn the rules regarding advancement and the potions themselves, which can lead to some pretty neat interactions and cheats you can exploit.

Today episode since klien was thinking about old cases, i went back to rewatch old episodes, in the first episode it says 2 months prior to doomsday, and today's episode Dunn says to Klien, "You have almost finished 2 months now", I really liked how they hinted doomsday is coming in next few episodes, without spoon feeding these details. Like not only this doomsday, like other details also it gives context without spoon feeding anything
Before this episode, i was like should i read LN or not, but i am not reading it until the season 1 is done, This Donghua is really doing good job actually(except some issues with pacing, they can slow dowm sometimes to give time to read subtitles)

The novel is indeed a (rounded-up) 10/10, but I noticed that the reason why many novel-readers are so aggressively and at times irrationally complaining about the donghua (chinese animation) is that in some cases the acknowledgement of positives for the donghua would require also acknowledging flaws of the novel, which many of them will vehemently refuse to do because to that sub-set of novel readers the novel is no longer a great and/or enjoyable work of literature, but rather some kind of religious text they worship fanatically and to them the donghua is outright heresy. Something similar happened to the "sequel" Circle of Inevitability where you can notice their kind by their absurd superlatives, saying things like "There is no sequel! It doesn't exist!"

Best part is we are only half way through. The English dub is great, and there's finally the chibi and mysticism content on Crunchyroll. I also just got my English copy of the book today.

Almost done with COI. Damn the dream was a slog.

The information dump was abrupt and large and him connecting things together was too fast. Half of things went over my head, would have to watch this again to understand. This is my main problem with this show, its like different pieces are stitched together and the flow is not very smooth and each piece has too much going on and it goes by fast.

Not the case for me, as a donghua only, I reached a considerable amount of accurate conclusions as the episode went on. It was actually very enjoyable to pause and give deep thought to everything that was stated, that really helped me out in digesting everything that was shown or said.

Good episode, absolutely loved the whole chain of epiphanies leading to potion digestion. Much kino.
Also I must say it's been a long time since I actually enjoyed main character worship instead of rolling my eyes at it. Maybe it's because Klein is still a regular guy for the people he knows in his daily life but I really enjoy the fog heterotopia and the process of his followers in that fog growing to worship him like a god. It's cute. He's pretty much just a powerful looking guy in the shadows with a deep confident voice and skype in his power set who consistently meets their unmet needs thanks to esoteric knowledge but hey as long as it works.

If Detective Sherlock Moriarty from Lord of the Mysteries were to kill a hotel room full of three people. He'd enter using a secret door in the hotel he found via divination. He'd throw a mystic item infected by True Creator ravings near one guy causing him to lose control. The second person would then immediately die, as planned, as it's a "reasonable development" for the woman to be torn to shreds by the first guy who turned into a mad monster. As for the third man, why Sherlock doesn't kill him at all. It's a reAson.b!e devel0pmenT fOr tHe 3rD mAn to di3 fRom A heArt aTta--- After turning around counter-clockwise, the third man removes his disguise to reveal he actually WAS Sherlock the entire time. But Sherlock just entered through the secret door and killed two people, how can there be two of him? I can deny the very basis of the assumption that Sherlock was meant to be written as a realistic smart guy. I think he was written to be entertaining first and foremost.
A guy buying the room next door to examine it before a murder is boring. A guy who kills himself to enter a room only to reveal he was actually playing the role of the victim is actually fun to watch.
