craftworld eldar take infinite Ls in lore. they are really badly handled. anyone who fights them gets immediate plot armor to overcome their written superiority. eldar have the best equipment, training, space ships, webway ftl travel, AND they can see the future. they will 100% of the time lose to an angry space marine, loyal or chaos, with a gun. the votann will repo a craftword. the tau will out lazor them. the necrons mog them with technology and numbers (they are both supposed to be low population declining races).

Eldar are written as being overpowered, superior beings and have never won a significant conflict. They best they get is a codex blurb where they do something cool offscreen in a single sentence. It you see an Eldar in a story they exist purely to be exposition for a human main character or to die as as a secondary antagonist. Its genuinely bad because 40k should exist to make all factions look cool and interesting and give each their moment in the sun and Eldar get absolutely shit on constantly. I would love some Eldar wank, but you wont get it.

Also the only reason anyone plays them in tabletop is because they are usually stupidly OP and poorly balanced.
