Uncle anon here, all this talk about feeling burned about not getting a Mobat or Mauler for the Haslab got me thinking about what options I might have for getting a classified scale tank for my nephews. As much as I love 'em, I am not getting them Ramen Toy tanks. Getting them Awe Strikers is already reaching the limit of what I think it'd be reasonable to spend on a Christmas gift for a niece or nephew, and I've also got 5 nieces who all deserve nice things too so I can't spoil the boys too much (they're from two different sets of parents too, so it's not like they're brothers who can share).

I've gotten an idea worming its way into my head that I could scratch build them some tanks, though. I've done a lot of models and custom toys before and I have a 3D printer. The easiest option would be to just get the Classified-scale Mobat model off of Cults3D and make printer go whrrrr, but maybe a more fun option for both me and the kids would be to scale it up a bit more and at least partially build the body out of wood so that a tank crew can go inside. Maybe even use something bigger than the Mobat, like a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the Mauler or even a scaled down M1 Abrams playing the part of a Patriot Grizzly as the jumping off point. If it's a scratch build I can just scale up and modify the parts of any printable Tank model so that they'll fit onto whatever body I build out, and then rig up a track system around some off the shelf RC tank tracks. I'll have to think about it some more but if I could do it at a cheap enough price it'd be worth the labor.

Or I should just work a few extra hours and get them the Ramen tanks instead of spending weeks designing and building something. Maybe I'm just going crazy, I don't know. Please help.
