This will be a genuine issue when it comes to Vajrayana. You can't perform any Buddhist tantra correctly without genuine Bodhicitta, so you're kind of cooked unless you're willing to actually develop and maintain said Bodhicitta.
Some form of Hinduism is definitely where you'll want to be if you're still interested in tantric shenanigans.
Also its funny the amount of people who want to get into Tibetan Buddhism's version of Vajrayana, but are unwilling to adopt Bodhicitta, and are, at the same time, attracted to wrathful practices, its kind of contradictory in multiple ways. Wrathful incarnations of the various Buddhas/Bodhisattvas are representative of extreme, fierce acts of compassion and ultimate altruism.
Still, everyone has the capacity. If you put forth sincere effort, you'll get there with Bodhicitta eventually. I will warn you though, Vajrayana is a very bumpy path. Depending on your karma, it may for a time, actually make your life worse.
