Israeli media is reporting that occupation authorities are now admitting that suicides among soldiers are increasing, largely due to the psychological effects of the war. Between October 7 and the end of 2023, seven soldiers died by suicide. Another 21 followed in 2024. Since the start of 2025, at least 15 more have taken their lives, bringing the total to 43. If this trend continues, the number is expected to rise.

Military officials have expressed growing alarm. Soldiers are enduring prolonged deployments, heavy casualties, and intense combat. This is most evident in Gaza, where resistance forces continue to inflict heavy losses using various ambushes. The trauma of participating in daily massacres across the Strip further compounds the psychological strain. Reports indicate that many of the soldiers who died by suicide had experienced severe trauma on the battlefield.
