Halflidshit in official media annoys me more than it should. It comes from fans turned official artists, usually from the Western/Archie/IDW side.
Before recently, it was basically only a thing in split second scenes where he's supposed to be sad or pissed off (because they didn't want to animate the brows instead). It really dulls Shadow's natural >:( face, makes him seem lazy and sleepy, when he should be alert and on edge. I guess it wouldn't matter to a non-autist or someone who isn't heavily invested, but I think expressions have more of an impact on how people see the character than fans might think.
I also dislike how they've made Shadow become violent over jokes. He's supposed to be violent only if someone is in his way - even when he was a villain, it was Sonic starting the fight(s), not him.
Feels like people just want him to be Knuckles while ignoring the real Knuckles.
