people born and raised in cities can't handle pace-of-life living in low-density environments. they're cut off from constant overstimulation and are dropped into an insular community where they stick out like a sore thumb. they're a fish out of water, and the mentally fragile (possibly from years of micro-fracture built up by living in a high stress environment) shatter into a million pieces.
evolution isn't that fast, nobody is "adapted" an environment like that. swedes don't have magic metabolism that lets them synthesize vitamin d or use less of it in a meaningful capacity. they just haven't been totally failed by modern civilization like most thirdies are.
