While the circumstances of Clem's survival are iffy at best, I pretty much prefer the theme of breaking the cycle of tragedy through the series with a bittersweet yet hopeful message for the future. Clementine assumed the role of caretaker for a another kid, but due to the accumulated lessons she learned throughout her life, she was able to pass those lessons on to a new generation, creating a new path in which a kid can grow up without losing their only family. Yeah it was rushed, bended the world just a little but goddamn, Clementine and her boy are safe, and I couldn't ask for a better end.
