Dun trivia, the costume designer changed the color of the cardinals back to the deep darker red. Nowadays they're wearing a different, more glaring, hue. Personally not liking it, the old colors were better and apparently the designer thought the same.
Agree about modern outfits being too downtoned. Medieval chasubles and mitres were crazy. I also love the red papal hats and the capes. At least Tedesco wore his jacket like a cape.
