The story in Tears is so bad it's actively dragging the game down even when you don't care about it. I wouldn't say any Zelda game has a good story but at least it can present solid context and broad strokes for characters. Shit, Majora's Mask in particular is full of personality and that game reuses models from another game. Tears is at best lacking energy at worst actively stupid, contradicting both itself and BotW while still trying to drawn enough attention to itself for you to be unable to say "well I don't care".
