I knew it was one of the most popular ones amongst lebs, slavs and some older orientals but never smelled it on a paki or jeet

>if indolic basically means animalic
Yes but no, indolic usually refers to indoles, chemical compounds that smell like white florals in full bloom when properly diluted.
Tuberoses, jasmines and orange flower (neroli) smell really strongly when still on the stick, like a very overripened citrus or a woman's very strong musk after waking up or musk from somewhere else.
Jasmine smells like spoiled red meat when emanating its full power, neroli smells like the stuff used in mothballs. Around these dates the orange tree throws their little white flowers and the scent of florals mixed with dead animals permeate the streets, supposedly it's so flies and other stuff go around and pollinate or do whatever weird fly shit they do to help them do whatever, it's awful in my personal taste but some ladies love it.
Jasmine when tried to be replicated on the stick realistically is quite indolic, foul when in extrait concentration, it is not so much animalic as it is fleshy and damp in the bad sense of the word.
There's also a specific point in which that smell gets confused with cigars and dry tobacco, it's used as such in 80's fougeres, particularly the first formula of Cool Water before being reformulated in the mid-90's and then taken out in the late 00's by Coty.

Polo Original
>cold
That's a new one, supposedly Davidoff for Men smells pissy, boozy and dry tobacco but it was discontinued long ago, germans still have a dupe for it.
Hugo Boss #1 pre-facelift smells pissy and sweaty with very little tobacco in the drydown, it's mostly honey.
Perhaps if you layer Polo with Boss #1, but all of these are warm, none are "cold" as you want them.
