reread my post. Kidd giving up on his dream and retiring is thematically the same as him being dead. The whole point of his character is his will never falters no matter how bad he fucks up, which is why everyone in the fandom clowns him. Even tho he is very obviously out of the race for the One Piece I dont think it would make sense for him to give up lol.
