You guys are not thinking like a machinegun. You must embrace the machinegun. Don't run around, you're going to lose those fights. Look for open, long angles, place your deployable barricade, deploy your bipod and mow people down from outside their effective range with almost no aiming required. Machineguns are fully automatic sniper rifles in battlefield, always have been, but they require some planning and clever positioning to work properly.
