>Thread Question:How much DIY ventures do you engage in within this hobby?
In the miniature hobby? A good bit. For 40k? Not too much. I mix my own basing pastes for everything. Outside that I follow 3 rules for 40k and 3 rules for aos
40K
>Use only colours you're familiar with
>Try one new technique or workflow per unit
>Only minor kitbashing, focus on painting technique
AOS
>Try a minimum of one new colour per model
>Use only techniques your familiar with
>Focus on kitbashing as much as possible, take it easy on painting effort
Side game stuff I have no rules. It's worked out pretty well for me to keep myself from getting too excited and overloading myself with new techniques and paints at the same time.
