Today I saw tyranids in real life for the first time and I am quite disappointed. They models are pretty small, the warriors are barely taller compared to your regular marine. Even the big monsters like Norns are not that big for what I expected of them. And swarmlord is smaller than spindly wraithlord.

Acrylic inks arrived recently, and I'm mixing them.
I plan to mix them with flowaid+distilled water and matte medium (not ultramatte that was a disaster) to make homemade acrylic washes.
Because I plan to make DIY terrain and I'll be going through 18ml bottles quickly so might as well learn to DIY acrylic washes for the job to hopefully save some money.

It's going to be 2 pity characters maybe new wracks or some elite unit, probably one hq on a jet bike and one on foot. Current gw likes having a character to go along with a subtype of army. I don't think you'll see the boats refreshed as it seems like all the larger models from those eras have been kept in all the other codexes. Like nids kept their carnifexes, marines kept rhinos and raiders, etc. I'm thinking that 11th is going to be when we start to see those kits refreshed or removed as some of them are starting to show their age in the castings(see falcon tanks, some of the big nid dinos, and a lot of the flyers).

The sails are not really specific to either build, even if one only comes on the ravager sprue. Same with the tail fin and the shock prow. Or the lights or spiked railing instead of the thorns. Ravager sprue comes with an extra option for each but neither is exclusive to the ravager.

I have Death Guard, Tau, Bretonnia and Empire and let me tell you that both of my Fantasy armies have cost less than half of what either my 40k armies cost me. A MAA is 4 points base before upgrades.


A knight of the realm costs 24 pts and you get 12 of them in a box. Also before upgrades. The Bret core set costs $240 and it makes an army of 1250ish points and comes with the full hardcover rulebook. The battalion boxes are only slightly more expensive than combat patrols and come with an average of 1000ish points. Old world is far cheaper per model today not taking inflation into account than it was back in the day. I was there playing before it died and I play today.
