The small plateau that Narsis sits upon soon gave way to rough, grassy plains, as you head south down the road. The nearby farmsteads were not homes of wood and stone, but rather colossal mushroom-towers. The rain season would sometimes see the Plains flooded, and the farmers would have to paddle to Narsis.

The muggy humidity was only offset by the occasional canopy of emperor toadstools and willow trees around the stone road. Other flora grew beneath their shade, some of the alien plants even producing their own glowing light.

You pass a shrine of Vivec, dunmeri pilgrims praying before it. You let them be as they eye you suspiciously. Even born and raised here, anyone not a native born dark elf was an outlander to most.

And then, the river. A stone bridge connected the two sides, and on the far side, you see wheel tracks going down river. What starts the trail is a dead horse and Imperial. The goblins didn’t even bother with ranged weapons, just rushed the caravan. You follow the path, holding the hilt of your mace.

You come upon the goblin camp, after some ten minutes of walking. They’re arrayed around a group of mossy boulders. You see the flicker of light and smoke trail of a campfire, and the smell of cooked meat. You creep closer, spotting the hijacked caravan on the far side, guarded by a goblin with a durzog at his side. The goblins are revelling on one side, banging their newly pillaged steel together, dancing around the fire. Another group surrounds - by the Nine! - a clannfear daedra. The saurian monster is on all fours and in pain as a goblin shaman holds a ring over its head. Other goblins are trying to mount the large creature, but it keeps bucking them off, trying in vain to defend itself.
