>gotoh
this fucking brand has caused me nothing but headaches, here's my latest experience:
>buy Warwick bass for a killer deal on craigslist
>want to buy fancy gotoh tuners for it
>order expensive pack and it arrives
>holes are like half a millimeter too narrow and I don't want to break the headstock trying to force it in
>bring it to local luthier
>he doesn't have the necessary tool for this particular weird size so he order it from the manufacturer (adds like 2 weeks more to the waiting list)
>manages to do it and essentially he made a loss since he didnt want to bill me for the tool which cost him more than he was charging me
>he loses the nut from my warwick (warwicks have a special kind of nut that is detachable with tiny screws to adjust the nut height) during the repairs and I notice it while picking up the instrument
>can't find it in his workshop so now he has to order a new one since he's a professional and a decent guy
>new nut is 150 bucks because it was the fancy brass nut that you can only order from warwick themselves
>another 3 weeks wait because it comes from Germany
in the end the guy spent close to 200 bucks on a 30 bucks job and all of that could have been avoided if Gotoh did not have tuners that are literally less than half a millimeter wider than most bass brands offer...
