I dont think anything terrible will happen by it, but It might be too little, too late for both of you. To be more precise, you two might be used to some form of emotional reassurance from whatever the relationship was and that element seems to be mostly gone by next year. They will be respectful, but also very uninspired. Expect the most basic courtesy, you won't be shun or anything like that but it doesnt seem to be a particularly exciting reunion. You'll both try though, just not feel very fulfilled by it, mainly from his part. I do think he is perhaps the most conscious and mature so you.might not even notice the dissatisfaction.
