No it got replaced by Lent. That is why Catholics sin a bit for Mardi Gras and it is OK. Instead of sacrificing a chicken and not eating or drinking for a night you fast for 40 days to have your sins absolved. They just don't tell the average person why they have to fast other than Jesus did it. Easier to keep normie cattle in line that way.
