Tried too hard to forgor (skull emoji) things that make him sad, started losing bits of his memory that he was able to forget about and the first thing to go was the most painful part about it- himself being there with his friends. Both names being gone means less of a reaction if he recalls these things happening- he doesn't know what he's really lost and why he should be upset about it, since he's no longer considering these "his" life.
